Freeman House

A short history of Freeman House

Mr. House was new to Edison Middle School in 2011. He brings twenty-plus years of music teaching experience with him and has taught at all grade levels, but mostly in high school.  He majored in cello performance at the State University of California at Los Angeles and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree and Teaching Credential from that institution.

Mr. House enjoys working on music projects for himself and for clients at his home recording studio.  He and his wife Kathy live in Redlands and perform frequently at Riley’s Farm (www.rileysfarm.com), in Oak Glen.  They also own and operate a U-Pick apple orchard which is next to Riley’s.  They have three adult children and six grandchildren, so far.

While Mr. House majored in cello and has performed classical literature in local symphonies, he is mainly a bluegrass and old time banjo and fiddle player.  His first job, when he was still in high school, was teaching guitar at a local music store.  He enjoys learning about and trying to play as many instruments as he can get his hands on. His wife Kathy considers him somewhat of a hoarder in this regard.  He can play all the standard instruments of the band and orchestra and has developed some competence on the clarinet and trumpet.  His favorite composer is J.S. Bach.

Bach.
