Welcome to 6th and 7th Grade English and 6th and 7th Grade History

August 13th, 2015

Dear Parents, Families & Guardians,

This letter is to welcome you and your child to Thomas Alva Edison Middle School and my 6th and 7th Grade English and  History Classes during the 2015-2016 school year. I look forward to a great year teaching your students and helping them continue to develop into responsible, positive and productive community members. If you wish to meet with me you may call the counseling office to set up a conference.

Please check to make sure your student has pencils,a big eraser, pencil sharpener, color pencils, and 6 composition books Head phones would also be useful as we will be using the Focus on Reading Program on the computer. We will also be using Writers' Workshop.

Homework:

Students are expected to read aloud for 30 minutes every night, record their reading in their planner or reading log and write a one sentence summary. Please review and sign student planners on a daily basis.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ms. Winterling
